Cancel plan now, have it end after at the end of the year

I would like to cancel the subscription now and use the software until the end of the 12 months that I bought. When I try to cancel the plan Adobe wants to end it right then and there and charge me 50% of what I still owe.

(None of the listed topics match my problem, so I just picked one)

For anyone who doesn't want to accept these apologist's answers: Get to know your local laws and cite them to Adobe's customer support. They know full well that they can't get away with this crap if you were to escalate things and will cancel your subscription. They did so in my case because this clearly violates EU law - as was confirmed to me by a lawyer.

As far as I know, cancel is IMMEDIATE not delayed

This space is provided by Adobe, but it is not Adobe support
Sorry, nobody here can help with an account or payment problem
This is a public forum, you need the link to Adobe support, not other users
Help Center https://helpx.adobe.com/support.html is a good place to start
Be sure to remain signed in with your Adobe ID before accessing the link below
Do be aware that Adobe's staffing is impacted by the virus, so wait times are long
-you MUST make sure that your browser does NOT block ads, scripts, or pop-ups
-you MUST also allow 'cookies' in your web browser for the link to work

Type "Agent" in the chat box to bypass the chatbot and be connected to a person
-Meaning type in the word Agent without the quote " " marks

What happens when I forget to cancel at the end of the 12 months? Will the subscription auto-renew for another 12 months or simply continue on a month-to-month basis with the opportunity to cancel at any time?

I would like to cancel now and then decide if I want to continue using the products when the time comes to renew the subscription. I fear that if I miss the sweet spot between cancelling and a possible auto-renew I will be forced to pay for another year.

Cancelling the plan seems like a hassle, not very customer friendly.

You MUST cancel before your current subscription hits your one year date or it WILL renew... which is what you agreed to when you purchased the subscription

It does NOT convert to a month-by-month subscription that you may end at any time... that is only available if that was your original subscription purchase

Adobe will send you a reminder, but it is ultimately up to YOU to keep track of your renewal date and cancel your subscription before renewal happens

Log-in to your Adobe account and click this link https://account.adobe.com/plans if you don't know your date... remember, cancel before your renewal date

When you 'click to agree' to the subscription terms while buying a subscription, that means that you really do need to read BEFORE you enter your credit card number to buy a subscription... See this page for more information, including a yellow highlited section from the subscription page https://community.adobe.com/t5/account-payment-plan-discussions/adobe-subscription-is-a-rip-off/td-p/12648724
