Question

Cannot download uncompressed files with the Android version of the Creative Cloud app.

Why can't I download my files from the creative cloud app on android? I can share the file, but that automatically compresses it to a .png file which is not what I want. I have the option to make the file available offline, but this does not seem to download and save the file to anywhere on my mobile phones internal storage. What actually happens when I opt for my file to be made available offline? The work around seems to be to download the file directly from my Adobe account on the website. What is the Adobe CC android app for if not to access your files from other hardware and operating systems?

Hi Jackimo,

Thank you for reaching out to us, we hope you get a resolution in this community forum.

ACCESS AND SHARE YOUR WORK

Files is where you find all your content saved in the Creative Cloud. The app brings together all your synced files, cloud documents, Lightroom photos, and libraries in one place. You can search to find what you’re looking for by name and meaning (for example, searching for "cat" returns all images of cats). You can preview folders of images as a slideshow to show off your work while on the go. You can also rename, copy, delete, and manage the organization of your files.

To share, you can download files, share a web link, post to Instagram, or send files in an email or text message. Capture inspiration using your camera, or transfer files between Creative Cloud from Google Drive, Dropbox, iCloud, and Apple’s File app (iOS only). Find the perfect Adobe Stock asset for your next creative project and add it to a library. Or, invite friends and colleagues to shared folders, then leave comments and annotations to collaborate.

Hello Neelam,

In your reply you say; "To share, you can download files, share a web link, post to Instagram, or send files in an email or text message. Capture inspiration using your camera, or transfer files between Creative Cloud from Google Drive, Dropbox, iCloud, and Apple’s File app (iOS only)."

I can see with my "synced files" I can download the original file, but with "cloud documents" I can't. I can only send compressed versions of the files. Is there something else that I should change in settings to allow the app to download cloud documents?

Thanks in advance,

Jack

Hi Jack,

Thank you for the information. Making the file available offline should allow you to edit or view it when not connected to the internet.
