Cannot Restore Creative Cloud Files Folder Error

We have been using the Creative Cloud File Syncing to an external hard drive to move between Macs, which has been working perfectly fine until now.  Then today when we plugged in and switched on we have the "Cannot Restore Creative Cloud Files" as location is unavailable error.  The drive is plugged in and the App can both see it and is using is as its syncing location.  However, the syncing is paused.  When you unpause it you get the same message with either Continue or Restore as options.

Anyone know whats going on with this and how to fix it?

the formatting of that hard drive matters.  if there's been any update (eg, to your os), that's likely triggered the error for a hard drive that previously worked and has not been reformated since it previously worked.

Both Macs haven't changed since they where used last week so I can't image it's that but I will look into it.  Thx.
