CC libraries distort vectors—2025 version

This has been a known problem for a while—I'm seeing posts from at least 2020 with this issue. I try to have my designers keep an eye out for our logos, and we will typically pull a fresh vector from the OG file. But how can I hand over logo files to an Express user who doesn't have the eye to notice a problem when the libraries are still distorting vector files? This is not at all acceptable. Fix the Creative Cloud Libraries!

Hi @default3ki7ax1cy11h,

Thanks for reporting this. This isn’t a known issue, and Libraries themselves don’t modify the vectors that are provided to them. The host app (Illustrator) sends the vector data, and Libraries simply stores a representation of that element — it doesn’t alter the artwork in any way.

To help us investigate further, could you please confirm where the distortion occurs — is it visible in the Libraries panel or only when you place the asset on the Illustrator canvas?

Also, please share the following details so we can look deeper into this:

  • Your operating system (macOS or Windows)

  • The version of Illustrator you’re using (and whether it’s up to date)

  • A bulletproof way to reproduce the issue, if possible — i.e., steps that consistently trigger the distortion

Once we have this information, we can escalate for further investigation.

Regards,

Tarun

Mac OS Tahoe 26.0 (25A354) and versions below, members on my team are not on Tahoe yet.

Adobe Illustrator 29.8.2
The distortion occurs on placing from the library and opening from the library. All users on the team are experiencing the same problem. I have replaced graphics with new files and ultimately end up having the same problems. It has been occuring for at least three years. The most recent files were not created by me, but have some extra points in the vectors. Which might be a cause, but the type that wasn't edited has some distortion. I do not have "snap to" turned on. And I don't know if the original files had it turned on. Exported a distorted vector and attached. The C is the main problem but the S have been affected.

Are these SVG files? How do they get into the library?

If you double click the file in the CC Library panel, does it open in Illustrator? And do you see any snapping option turned on in the View menu?

I'm also on the team. I just tried opening the CC library file, deleted the distorted vectors, imported clean OG vectors, and saved it again (because it might be linked to projects), but the issue appears AGAIN after saving, this time slightly different distortions!
