Please tell me how to rid myself of the virus like program called ironically CEF HELPER. If this is a piece put in here to data mine or do nothing but take up CPU resources and you do not know how to remove it, please remove my subscription to your lousy software and I will find a linux alternative.!!!

On my Windows PC (AMD 5900X CPU), I found that with Adobe CC Desktop and the "CEF Helper" app constantly running, the CPU with "idle" at 17 Watts.  This is with no Adobe applications running.  If I kill CEF Helper and all the other Adobe CC and updated background apps running, my idle power drops down below 3 Watts. (This is CPU power as reported by the Ryzen Master software)

Looking at Task Manager, Adobe CEF Helper is always using at least 1% CPU even when everything is idle.

14W may not sound like a lot, but multiply that time a million PCs running this software and what a waste of power! I'm going to create a new topic for this...

Jeremy, I am sorry you are encountering problems using the background services.  You can find information on what the CEF Helper service is used for at https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/adobe-background-processes.html.  If you are finding that the process is using an excessive amount of system resources, then please begin a chat session at https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html so that the cause can be determined.

If you wish to cancel your membership instead, then see http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/cancel-membership-subscription.html for information on how you can begin the cancellation process.  I would also recommend reviewing https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-remove-app.html which provides instructions on how to remove the desktop applications included with a Creative Cloud membership.

    'encountering problems'?

Do you actually think anyone in the world WANTS a million background adobe processes running?
