conflicted copies from mac not in use

I am working on a machine at my office that constantly says 'conflicted copy' even tho there have been no other changes on any other machine. This is really annoying.

    I am also suffering from the Conflicted copy from.... This is a phrase in brackets after the normal catalogue. In addition, this occurred at the same time as my "normal" catalogue became corrupted. This is VERY frustrating... This suddenly appeared after upgrading to the latest LR version.  Interestingly, when I opened the upgraded version there was a VERY brief appearance of a new flash screen with lightening instead of the normal flash screen. Please help?
