Question

Core Sync still using up 100% of my CPU time

I know this is probably not the right place to post this - as this platform is more for peer-to-peer support and my post is more of a rant... But in case Adobe IS peeking... Creative Cloud is STILL using up to 100% CPU for extended periods of time. 3 years after the first posts appeared about this issue.

Yes, I have the most recent version installed (I update religiously - and that is probably one of my mistakes, as I found out that all updated of CC apps need to be started at least once, which I don't do).

Killing all offending Adobe processes returns my iMac to normal operation. Fans only turn on when I do heavy lifting, and no longer run at full speed 24/7.

But this is not why I'm posting: in trying to discover the root cause of my iMac turning on the fan all of the time, I found out that going offline stops the fans. Suspecting malware, I installed Little Snitch. I was absolutely shocked at the number of processes that Adobe keeps active even when not a single app should be running. I understand that SOME background activity may take place, checking for updates, etc. But compared to Microsoft, Google, and even Apple, Adobe eats the cake... There's CoreSync, Adobe Update Helpers, Adobe_CCXProcess.nodes, plain "node"s, Acrobat via AcroCEF Helpers, Acrobat via Acrobat Synchronizers, Acrobat via LogTransport2s, AGS Service, Creative Cloud Helper, Creative Cloud via Desktop Services, Adobe Desktop Service, Adobe_licensing_helpers, and the list goes on and on.

Adobe, I suggest that you totally reconsider the complexity of your product which you apparently do not even fully master yourselves (considering that CoreSync-related issues persist even though you announced multiple times they have been fixed). This isn't something that can be fixed by un- and reinstalling Creative Cloud. Although I'm far from being an expert, I believe you need to totall reconsider your architecture and what YOU are doing on OUR computers.

I would really like to know what Adobe helper apps are doing and communicating in the background when no CC apps should be running. Please don't tell me that you're trying to improve my user experience, because you're doing the opposite. Please improve my user experience by radically simplifying and reducing the number of processes that run on my computer, and the number of online connections you maintain for your products.

I don't need any dark modes, medium dark modes and UI redesigns every year, I need your apps to be responsive, eating as little memory and CPU time as possible but just as much as is requird, and causing as little disruption to my workflows as possible.

I would actually find it totally acceptable to continue my CC subscription for 1 or 2 cycles and NOT get any new features or cloud-based services, but improve the features that we already have - but working faster, using less CPU time, using less internet bandwidth, using fewer processes overall.

Come on - if MICROSOFT can do it - why can't you??

i'm not sure why you're addressing adobe here when you already know these are user-to-user forums, but your post belongs here, https://www.adobe.com/products/wishform.html

Simple, kglad,

- I'm trying to get feedback from other users who might still experience this issue which has been described in many other threads, and which clearly hasn't been addressed by Adobe, despite their confirmation to the contrary.

- Thank you for posting the link to the "wishform" page. I'll have you know how hard it is to get to this type of feedback page when you don't know the explicit link to it - as Adobe certainly aren't prominently posting it on their pages.  I wonder why.

i've found the best way to find anything on adobe.com is to use google: site:adobe.com <whatever you're looking for>

adobe's internal search features are not good.
