Creative Cloud Failure

I've been using Photoshop for years on a Mac - I have Creative Cloud 2019. Suddenly today it stopped functioning. Whe I clicked on the CC icon on the top of my screen, it apologized for taking longer than usual to load, gave me a message about something being corrupted, and then completely disappeared. In attempting to reinstall the Creative Cloud App (as one of the posts recommended) I get Error Code 1. The installation is still in progress but barely moving. Goes without saying I have a huge project I need to get done NOW! Advice?

Error code 1 is a network issue. check your connections.
