Question

Creative Cloud folder syncing the entire folder daily...

So, yesterday I restarted my machine (MBP 2019, OS 13.5). I noticed that my local creative cloud folder was syncing, which I thought was strange because it was synced before the restart, so there shouldn't be anything to sync. But, whatever, maybe it's a glitch. This morning I had to restart again, and now it is syncing 21,000+ files! And taking hours, during which I can't work on the files that I need to use. There was only one file that was changed.

So, two questions:

  1. Why is it syncing the entire folder? And, there are not 21,000 (seeable) files in that folder, I keep things lean.
  2. Why does it have to sync every time I restart? This is distressing since I can't work.

I checked to make sure I was logged into the correct account, and I am. (I have both work and personal accounts. The work account is administered by IT as part of an Enterprise plan. The personal one is the Photography plan.)

What is going on? Suggestions on how to fix, please?

Thanks.

reset the cc desktop app by making sure it's in the foreground, then press:

Win: Ctrl + Alt + R
Mac: Cmd + Opt + R

Thanks for that. It's still syncing, but now it's a more reasonable number of files... more akin to the number of files that may be in the CC folder. I don't want to pause syncing so I don't get a bunch of "conflicted copy" files...

I guess I'll have to wait and see if it starts up again after it's all synced, after a restart. And I can open the files and work on them, so that's good.
