Creative Cloud Needs Repairing every time I log on

I am running Creative Cloud on an iMac.  For the last couple of weeks (ever since my subscription to services renewed), every time I log on to, or restart, my computer, Creative Cloud seems to slow every thing down and eventually, after about 5 minutes, it says there is a problem with it and it has to be repaired.  That then requires redownloading and installing it - all of which wastes resources on my computer and slows everything down.  Given it isn't a piece of software I particularly want, but I don't seem to be able to run Lightroom or Photoshop without it, it is extremely annoying.  How do I fix this, or get rid of it and just run the programs I actually want?

TDennz, sorry you are encountering problems accessing and using the Adobe Creative Cloud desktop application. From your post, it sounds like something is interfering with the ability of the Creative Cloud desktop app to communicate with our servers.  I would recommend reviewing the settings for any installed security software or software firewalls.  A misconfigured software firewall, in particular, can cause the behavior you described.

 

If you are unsure what security software is installed on the computer, I would recommend reviewing the list of login items https://support.apple.com/guide/mac-help/open-items-automatically-when-you-log-in-mh15189/mac.  Please make sure you are familiar with each of the items listed and that they are using the manufacturer's recommended settings.

Thank you for your reply.  There is no firewall running on this computer and the firewall on the network access point has been unchanged for over 1 year.  This problem has arisen within the last month, but I see that is a widespread problem.  It appears to me that it commenced when my annual subscription was renewed.  Perhaps it is an Adobe problem rather than a user problem.  As for security programs, I am running Webroot SecureAnywhere, which does not kick any other program off.

TDennez, please check with the developer of Webroot SecureAnywhere, and any other installed utility software, to verify there are no updates available and using recommended settings.
