Creative Cloud wants Chrome now?

I tried to open a file I have stored in Creative Cloud in Illustrator format. When I try to download or access it with Firefox, I get a message that I now need to use Google Chrome or MS Edge. It's also telling me that Safari is not a supported browser! I don't want to have either Google or Edge on my laptop, at all, ever! What's up with this now? Has Adobe gone to the dark side (Google & MS)?
