Question

Deleting Photos from Lightroom doesn't affect my cloud storage amount

I am trying to make some space in my cloud storage.  I have been deleting albums, making sure I make a note of the date of the pictures then going into the all photos section, filtering by date and then deleting photos from the all photos section.

No matter how much I delete, so far it's about 7000 images, it doesn't change the amount of cloud storage used in the cloud storage meter.

Am I right in thinking that the ones in the deleted folder don't count towards my cloud storage?

Any ideas please....

Hey @seaniom

I wanted to mention that Creative Cloud storage is separate from Lightroom Storage. I've included an article that breaks it all down.  https://adobe.ly/4eAcDg7

If you still have questions, please feel free to ask! 🙂

To confirm:

  • After deleting the images, did you also empty the trash in Lightroom?
  • Did the storage change here --> https://adobe.ly/4lxlSQD

I was deleting deleted files but it does say when you delete that files in your deleted don't count towards your storage.  No matter what I deleted it didn't make any difference.  In the end I have upgraded my storage, which isn't ideal.

use a web browser to navigate to the following locations. at each location there are several folders/link to check.:

https://assets.adobe.com

https://lightroom.adobe.com

https://documentcloud.adobe.com

https://spark.adobe.com

if you delete anything from any of these locations, check for a deleted folder where your file(s) was (were) moved. if you want to clear space you must delete files in the deleted folder. the used storage shown at each of those four sites (when totaled), should match the space shown used by your cc files.
