Question

How do I quickly link files across Adobe apps?

This seems like such a basic thing and I'm baffled that I can't find any concrete answers to this issue. I often need to embed files from one Adobe app into another app. For example, I'm trying to embed a Photoshop file into an Indesign file. I can't find a way to do this within Creative Cloud.

The Photoshop file is saved on CC. However, I can't place it within my Indesign document from CC nor can I easily copy it into my CC library. As far as I can tell, the only way I can embed the document is by downloading it to my computer and either uploading it to my CC library or linking it from the computer. Since I use two different computers regularly, I prefer a cloud storage option.

Am I missing something or is it actually impossible for me to work fully within CC to place one Adobe document in another?

How do I connect InDesign to Creative Cloud?

Place Photoshop cloud documents in InDesign
  1. Open a new or an existing InDesign document.
  2. Go to File > Place.
  3. Select Open Cloud Document and select the Photoshop cloud document (. ...
  4. Select Linked to place a linked file, or deselect Linked to embed the artwork in the InDesign document.
  5. Select Place.
