Question

How to completely disable (and not pause) Creative Cloud Sync

Hello,

How do I completely disable creative cloud sync permanently and delete the  folder that was added to my file explorer without my permission?

I do not want to puase the syncing. I do not want to use the service. I will never use the service. I have a cloud service from a company that actually respects privacy.

Please let me know what needs to be done. This is an essential feature and if there is no way to competely turn it off every time, then this is malware by definition.

ADOBE - still looking for a solution to this. Please advise. Absolutely insanse that the only option is to pause. Paying customers should be able to adjust their settings, consent, or opt out of their data being uploaded to the cloud.

I want to know how to completely disable adobe cloud syncing. It's outdated but seemingly unresolved.

I used to pause syncing and it would stay paused. Now, when I restart my computer or launch CC, it automatically resumes syncing. How can I keep this from happening?

syncing is going to be stopped by adobe so it doesn't make much sense to put a lot of effort into fixing that.  i suggest you stop syncing, backup important sync folder files and then delete files from your local and online sync folders.

I rarely if ever save files to the Creative Cloud Files folder.  It's 100% optional you know.

When you save files to any other folder on your HD, there are no files to sync. 😉  Problem solved.

while drafting comments, if you mention someone on your team the document shares and uploads without consent or even telling you what it's doing. this happened to me with a sensitive document that was definitely not ready to share. adobe is beyond fixing at this point. i'm only using their software due to legacy workflow which we are quickly moving away from due to adobe total disregard for their customers. will never again purchase adobe products for employers or personally.

This is what I want to end. No matter how many times I tell people to ignore the emails from Adobe, they end up opening them anyway and editing in the Adobe cloud version rather than our organization's folders, where we all collaborate. It's super annoying.

Hi @Lucid24929885fzxn,

What difference would you say is there between completely disable and pausing the sync. I also don't use this and have disable the sync from Creative Cloud Desktop app and I don't see it bothering me or my work. Infact I have also disable automatic launching of Creative Cloud Desktop app so all works well for me. I launch it when I need it

I see.

As long as it stays off in between sessions then I'm good.
Still, in between this and how convoluted it is to disable the "Creative Cloud" folder it adds to my file explorer, I'm a bit annoyed we couldnt just disable this while installing.

I know this is probably some executive decision to make users more inclined to use their cloud services. But if anything, this experiance has ensured that I will never use it. Spitting in paying customers faces isn't a good business tactic. Shocking to adobe, I know 🙂

But for real, thank you man.

It stays off atleast on a MAC. Trust me I too am bothered by things launching without my approval and try to disable them as much as I can. Try it and let me know if it works for you or not. Do you use a MAC or WIN?
