How to remove NEW creative cloud folder from file explorer?

I'm not referring to the Quick Access folder, but to a folder that's recently appeared in the DRIVE section of my file explorer navigation pane.  I'm not sure why it's listed with my drives, but it is.

It has a crazy long name, (Creative Cloud Files Personal Account {my email} XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX@AdobeID), and the unpin registry hack doesn't remove it.

I don't use Creative Cloud for file storage, and want this eyesore of a folder gone.

Please help.

Correct answer kglad

manually delete the entry:

\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Desktop\NameSpace\

and see if that works.

I was literally doxxed because of this stupid folder. The folder shows your full email and there is absolutely no way to remove the information from the file name. Who in the world came up with this stupid idea of forcing users to have this folder in their main file explorer???? CAN YOU FIX THIS ?

mac:

copy any important file to another folder and then delete Creative Cloud Files + <account type> + <profile_name> + <email> + <GUID> (for example: Creative Cloud Files Personal Account email@abc.com ####@AdobeID).

default location, Mac HD/Users/<Username>/Creative Cloud Files

windows:

Open the registry editor (regedit.exe) & naviagate to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Desktop\NameSpace You'll probably have two sub-keys. OneDrive's sub-key will be nameed '{018D5C66-4533-4307-9B53-224DE2ED1FE6}' Delete the other one, that will be Creative Cloud.

Hello, I have exactly the same problem. I've tried the solutions you've just suggested (changing the path in the .reg file, uninstalling Creative Cloud, deactivating all synchronisations with my account using the task manager) but the folder is still there in the file explorer. I can't see what's blocking it so much. I'd like the folder to become functional again or to disappear. What else could I try? I need some help.

Thank you for your quick reply. I managed to find a way that worked in my case.

In the edit > find registry window menu, I searched for "creative cloud files" unchecking keys and values. I then came across the folder with a class name with "Creative Cloud Files <email> <Adobe ID>" in the date column. So I set its value to 0 or deleted the folder completely. Deleting made the wrong folder disappear in Explorer. If you're in my situation, you should then find register folder on the real Creative Cloud Files folder. So if you want, you can put the value to 1 to have the right Folder in your Explorer.

I hope everyone who has this problem will be OK.

There is Windows advice for this, and I was working with Adobe Support for macOS.

https://helpx.adobe.com/sg/creative-cloud/kb/remove-cc-files-folder-shortcut-navigation-panel.html

They shared a modified [com.apple.LSSharedFileList.FavoriteItems.sfl3] file. The modified file did not work for me. Not only was the "Creative Cloud Files Personal Account…" folder still visible on the Finder sidebar, but all my personal folders on the Finder sidebar were removed. I replaced the modified file with the backup made, rebooted, and all was back to normal. The "Creative Cloud Files Personal Account…" folder is still visible.

For me nothing works.

• Not deleting \HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Desktop\NameSpace\ in regedit

• Not importing unPinCCF.reg in regedit

--> The devilish "Creative Cloud Files Personal Account ... " folder still appears. 😞

Any other idea?

Unfortunately, yes, that reg edit file didn't work.

But again, the folder at issue is not simply named Creative Cloud Files, and is in the Drive section of the Navigation pane, not the Quick Access.

I've attached a screenshot for clarity.
