Question

Indesign won't synch anymore across two computers in Creative Cloud. Its not the wi-fi

I work remotely and share indesign files with one other user in Creative Cloud. This has worked seamlessly for a long time, unti recently. It appears they are not synching, we receive messages asking to accept remote changes from another computer. This is usually very slow in happening by which time the changes we have been working on are lost and need to start again. It hasn’t been just one file, but many. Its severely impacting out=r workflow and deadlines. Both running same version of CC and indesign. Both wi-fis are good at each location. Has something changed in the process I am unaware of? A box unchecked? Any help would be greatful. This is beyond frustrating

    Hi @fional90758693,

Thanks for reaching out! I understand how frustrating this can be. From what you’ve described, this doesn’t appear to be a specific InDesign issue, but rather related to how files or assets are being synced across devices via Creative Cloud.

To help you better, could you please confirm a few details:

    • Are you working with InDesign cloud documents, local files, or files stored in a Creative Cloud?
    • Are both computers signed in with the same Adobe ID?
    • Is the issue with entire files not syncing, or specific items like libraries/assets?

Also, If you're relying on local or older Creative Cloud synced folders, note that automatic file sync across devices is no longer supported, which may be causing the issue.

    Regards,

    Tarun

Yes agree, I don’t think its an indesign issue. We are working with INDDC files. I create the indesign file on my desktop then save to cloud and share. It is always me that makes the file, files are never more than 2 months old. It is a magazine so features come through in the 2-month cycle, some only a week old when this happens, and they are never lengthy files, 12 pages max. We have separate Adobe ID on each computer. There is no linking to CC libraries or embedded images in the files so its not about syncing libraries

Hmmmm. I have just noticed Lightroom has been syncing files to the cloud. Have stopped it and deleted everything. This may have been the issue. See how it goes from here
