Is the old "real" adobe ever coming back?
Dear Adobe,
I am a very loyal and neatly paying customer for over 15 years now. I really love Adobe and always have been fiercely against people calling the “non-artistic” other apps like Canva etc. Design apps or making art.
But now I feel like Adobe is getting all the same. I don't want to use AI in my artworks. I don’t want annoying pop-ups all over my screen. I don't want notifications when I am creating. And I most definitely don’t want to “create” with a template based workflow. You can call me oldskool, but I like to keep my design process real.
My genuine question to your organisation: Is the “Old or Real” Adobe ever coming back? So just clean apps, with no AI, no new features all the time, no pop-ups and no notifications.
Also, even on the newest Macbooks I feel like the new Adobe apps make everything slow down and crash a lot because of al these “cool features”.
Now I’m seriously doubting to just crack the old versions of my Adobe apps. I never did this because I really like to pay for something beautiful. And I love how it works with the Creative Cloud, because I make use of al lot of different apps, also on my iPad and iPhone. I even accepted the subscription base rip-off, but since 2025 things are really going too far for me.
I’m not saying you should stop developing all the non creative AI stuff and I know that some people just want to “create” something fast with not creative apps like Adobe Express, and have no artistic mindset. But for me, that is not what making art is, and especially not what Adobe was standing for in my opinion.
Thanks,
Yours sincerely
Jeanne
