Question

Is there a specific image size for adobe portfolio?

Hello, I don't know where to ask this. I want to make an artist portfolio using Adobe Portfolio, it's very easy to use but I can't figure out what pixel size the images ought to be.

For example, instagram asks for 1080x1080 pixel size for their images, easy peasy. I can't find the specific dimensions for Adobe Portfolio, I understand that it resizes and compresses accordingly (awesome) but it's still very vague.

Depending on the them I use, some images are cropped and fit awkwardly in their container, if I knew the exact dimensions needed I could stop that from happening, right? (I attached a screenshot showing what I mean).

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Hi, I think it's 900 x 769px. I was hitting the same problem for the dimensions of the cover image, and the crop didn't work with my images either which are 1280 x 769px. I tried 1000x 769px but didn't seem to make any change. So I tried 900 x 769px, fitted the image to the width and left a white border top and bottom.

Adobe Portfolio recommends using images that are no more than 3840px wide.  However, I use images that are far below that to keep the file size down.

For best results, optimize images for the web beforehand in Photoshop.  Use File > Export > ExportAs > JPG.  To reduce file size and improve your site's performance,  adjust the image quality setting.  See screenshot.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for responding. I had already looked at this before posting here but I'll try to be more specific.

-"we generate different versions of that image each with a different width. The height changes relative to the width to preserve the image's aspect ratio." I think this is great but it leaves me with a few questions. Is there a optimal standard image size for best size flexibility? What is the best width for this? Maybe I'm overthinking this part I don't know..

-Also, when using page covers, my images appear cropped. Even if the pixel dimensions for height and width are the same. What are my options for this issue? (I added a screenshot showing this on the portfolio editor).

In addition,

  • We recommend uploading images that are the size of the container they're filling, or at most 2x that dimension for Retina resolution.
  • We recommend uploading cover images that are below 1MB (file size).
