Issues with sharing the "get link" with others

When I go to a library in the creative cloud app and click the three dots and select "Get Link" it pops up a box and offers up a link to copy. I've found that for some reason no matter which library I try to share from, it's sending me and others to the main "files" page and doesn't show any libraries.

It seems like if I do this from the browser by viewing the libraries, going to three dots next to the one I want and click "copy link", it works fine, but not from the creative cloud app.

I am the owner of most of the libraries. They are not public, but have been shared in the first manor in the past, but none of those links work anymore.

Anyone experience this? Any fixes?

Hi @michaelwalz_3D

I tested this workflow with one of my libraries and it did work. I noticed that the link from CC Desktop did redirect to the https://adobe.ly/4iYmhdj type URL. If there was something preventing the redirect that might be an explanation. In addition to kglad's suggestions you might want to test in a few different browsers as well as using a different internet connection if possible.

Best,
Dave

Something must have gotten fixed or changed because it's working now. But it was definitely broken for me and few other people at my company for several days. Thanks.

I'm experiencing it, too. You can see the difference in the URLs the Adobe website generates vs. what CC desktop creates.

website: https://www.adobe.com/files/libraries/urn:aaid:sc:US:caa2e549-a65f-495b-9e2b-XXXXXXXXXX?libraryVersion=6

CC desktop: https://shared-assets.adobe.com/link/58b2b7c7-ac65-48e1-68bc-8dcXXXXXXXXX

These are not valid links as I X'd out to keep them private, but the non-working links start with "shared-assets.adobe.com" and the working links start with "adobe.com/files/libraries"

can you share a link with yourself (using another email) to test?

reset your cc desktop app

This isn't a terribly helpful reply. "Reset your cc desktop app" - how? What is the process?

Do you mean to reinstall the Creative Cloud desktop app?

Do you know with certainty that will work, or are you just guessing?

It takes a lot of time and effort to uninstall and reinstall ALL your Creative Cloud apps on the off chance that it might fix the link issue. It would be acceptable if there was documented proof it would work, or some explanation of what is going on.

My hunch is that this is just an Adobe bug and re-installing CC desktop would not fix it.

reset the cc desktop app by making sure it's in the foreground, then press:

Win: Ctrl + Alt + R
Mac: Cmd + Opt + R
