Missing files from Creative Cloud

A file went missing. I have checked the deleted files (trash bin). I have checked every file folder everywhere in my account. It is just plain gone. This is not the first time this has happened. Anyone else have this problem? What can I do about it? Ironically, I discovered the problem as I was backing up my files on an external drive.
