Not including the Beta....Why have I got two different versions of Photoshop installed and updating seperatly ???????

because you didn't select remove older version when updating to the newer version.

 

and, at any time, you can uninstall any version using your cc desktop app.

I prefer to keep my older versions insalled in case the new one doesn't do what I need.  It happens.  Sometimes newer doesn't fit my workflow or play nice with my current system. 

 

When I'm satisfied that I no longer need older versions, then I uninstall them from the CC Desktop App.
