Muse not running after Creative Cloud Desktop app update

After the latest update to version 6.1.0.587 my copy of Adobe Muse will no longer open.

It partially loads, and then just closes.

In the Windows 10 logs I'm seeing -

Application: Muse.exe
Framework Version: v4.0.30319
Description: The process was terminated due to an unhandled exception.

Anyone any idea why this is happening?

I have uninstalled and reinstalled Muse and that makes no difference.

This is a big problem as I need to update one of my Muse websites.

And please, DON'T just tell me that Muse is now unsupported and obsolete and I should be using something else, I'm well aware of that!

I have carried on using Muse until I can find something better, which I haven't yet, and it has always worked fine up until now.

I haven't knowingly made any changes which would prevent it from working, so why has it suddenly apparently failed?

Thanks, Dave.

I assume you are talking about a PC because of the x86 folder. Has anyone else tried this?

Bonsoir,

https://helpx.adobe.com/fr/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html

  • PlugPlugOwl.dll
  • VulcanMessage5.dll

Lancer Adobe Muse : ok !!

Bien à vous.

I have been having the same problem as the rest of you. The "repair" trick didn't work for me. I am fine with disabling services, but need to know which ones they are. I can only see two labeled Adobe. I am running Windows 11 and was using Muse just fine until the creative cloud update in December. I restored my system from a system image and postponed updates, but this week I had to completely re-install my computer from scratch because of something another program had done that was causing it to freeze every time I used the computer, no matter what I was doing at the time, and now I can install Muse, but can't get it to open. I've been in chat with Adobe three times today and am getting really tired of being told the problem is with Muse, which was running fine before. Muse didn't change. Creative Cloud did. This is one of the reasons I am trying to find other solutions from other publishers, but right now I have two sites that are almost complete and I have 7 years' worth of work invested in all of this. I know I will have to convert all five sites soon, but really need to be able to use Muse right now.

@tonimarconi

try the repair solution or see if an internet disconnect works for you.

ciao

I downloaded the new Creative Cloud update today (12/1/2024) with great anticipation. However, I was bitterly disappointed. Adobe has obviously not taken care of the proper functioning of Muse in any way. Despite the CC update, the Muse problem still exists. So even now, after the latest CC update, Muse can only be started via cumbersome detours. Yes, Adobe is letting its customers down. At least those customers who dutifully pay their monthly fees for Muse. How sad ...

i don't know if adobe is working on this, but if they are, you should expect it would take, at least, 2 months after the first reports of problems, for a fix to be released.

i do know this has gotten the attention of adobe employees.

No, that is not the problem. That is the only way to open the program but not FIX the problem. Also is it not a conventional way to continue to use the program we have all been paying for.

But what happens when you plug back in internet and shut down. You have to do this every single time you open Muse?

Just disconnected from Adobe support... they bascially said... they no longer support Muse so the inability to open it is not  their concern nor will they assist in helping to open it. Pretty terrible on their part if you ask me.

I had this once before when I had a problem with a new version of the Creative Cloud app.

As soon as I said that I was using Muse, they didn't want to know.

The problem is convincing them that the problem isn't with Muse, it's with the Creative Cloud app.

They took some convincing, but eventually they did accept that, and went through the support procedures to diagnose the problem, which was then fixed.

If they say the same thing to me if I have to eventually actually contact them about this, I will not be pleased!

I'm still hoping the issue will be fixed in the next CC app update.

If it isn't, I will certainly be on them, as I am still paying a single app subscription for Muse, and they will be taking my money for something which no longer works as it should!

IF you are on a PC, checking your Task Manager background running apps and stopping what looks like something that interferes, worked for me! Lots of fiddling around, and an hour later I finally opened up our site. Yes, hoping that whatever is causing this, will be fixed soon. Thanks for everyone's replies here!

Help needed 😬

After my Muse stopped opening, I read a lot here and the best tip seemed to be to uninstall Muse and click on "reapieren". But that didn't work on my Mac and now Muse is uninstalled and I can't find a new way to reinstall it. I urgently need help. Thanks in advance.
