Question

New laptop - I'm not sure how Creative Cloud Files are supposed to work

I have a new Lenovo Legion PC laptop after many years with an old Asus.. On my previous laptop computer I had a Creative Cloud Files Folder. I worked with Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Acrobat, and more.

On my new Laptop with the Creative Cloud app installed, there is a Creative Cloud Files folder but nothing in it.

When I try to read about this, it's confusing. Are all files going to be only in the cloud web now? Even InDesign? Will there be nothing in the local folder? Thanks for any advice.

Are you able to see your files in Creative Cloud web? Are you signed in to your account in the Creative Cloud Desktop Application?

Yes I'm signed in. I see the files on CC Web. Not all of them are there.

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out. Please open the Creative Cloud desktop app and ensure that you're signed with using your source account or profile. Click File > Open Sync Folder. This opens the Creative Cloud files folder on your computer. Move the files from the Creative Cloud files folder to another folder on your computer.

Let us know how it goes.

Open your web browser and go to Creative Cloud online.

Depending on which services & apps you use, this is what's contained in your online storage.  Download the files you need and save to your new laptop.  If you still have files on your old laptop HD, copy them to a Flash (USB) stick and move them to your new computer HD.
