Portfolio domain configuration: why?

I'm started to create my portfolio here: https://aimevhe.myportfolio.com/

I saw Adobe allows us to use our own domain name.

Is it so important, or it's just for a nice display in browser?

Maybe for SEO?

it's not important except for branding/personal preference. no functionality is affected
