Question

RAW image files no longer preview in Creative Cloud show as OCTET

Help! When I upload a .CR2 file (Canon RAW file) I can no longer see a preview. I used to see it labeled as a RAW file and my past uploads have a preview but my new uploads show as OCTET and cannot be previewed.

There is nothing wrong with the file. The issue happens if I upload from my desktop or from an external drive. It also happens with new and old files of the same type. I am not syncing the file, just manually uploading which is what I have always done without a problem until now.

The .CR2 file is there, and if I download it it's fine but on assets.adobe.com you cannot see the preview. How can I fix this??? Tech chat has not helped.

Of note, you can see the preview of the same file on Google Drive.

Hi there,

Sorry for the delay. We're sorry about the experience as you're unable to see the preview of the CR2 file. Would mind telling us that how did you upload the file? Did you upload it through www.assets.adobe.com or from the Creative Cloud Application? Please try to upload via both the ways and let us know, how it goes.

Regards,

Tarun

I tried that, as well as many other things. I spent hours on the phone with Adobe customer support as well. No resolution. I gave up and will look for cloud storage elsewhere.
