saved over a very important indesign file that has synced to the creative cloud is there any way i can revert back to a previous version on my cloud?

You should be able to use the Restore functionality to revert back.

In a web browser go to the Files page at https://creative.adobe.com/files.
Find the file and go to it's page by clicking on it.
In the Activity list to the right of the image you should see earlier versions listed.
Select the version you want and click the Restore link.
Confirm the restore by clicking the blue Restore button in the dialog that pops up.
