Question

Specifying the correct canonical destination (URL) when creating an Adobe Portfolio website

Google has indexed one of my pages (https://stevennicholsonphotography.com/mt-st-helens-2019) but not my top level page (https://stevennicholsonphotography.com/collections).

 

Common sense would suggest that somehow editing a canonical reference would change this, thus letting Google index the correct page. However, I see no option for me, the website builder/user, on the Adobe Portfolio front-end CMS, to do this.

 

Can a techie look into the backend of my Adobe Portfolio website’s code and change the canonical reference so that it references https://stevennicholsonphotography.com/collections?

Otherwise, how can this be resolved?

    Make Collections your site's default Home Page.  See below.

    Hi Nancy,

    Thank you for the reply.

    I don't see how making my collections page a default home page from those instructions. 

    Those instructions require one to create a new 'welcome page' which is then either "centered" or "50/50 left" or "50/50 right" (per attached).

    What am I missing here?

    Don't be so literal. 

    Any page you designate can be your site's primary landing page, limit one per site.

    p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
