Useful alternatives to Creative Cloud Synced files?

Adobe's plan to discontinue Synced files in February will hamper our team's workflow. We cannot install Creative Cloud in a Virtual Desktop environment so we have to run the apps directly on our laptops. When working remotely, the Synced folders have provided an easy way to move files back and forth between the laptop and the network storage. Particularly useful for InDesign, where a project's folder typically has all the source material as well as the linked files. What is Adobe's logic in limiting its cloud storage to collabortion? What alternatives have any of you used for moving your files while working remotely?
