where are cc folders?

can anyone please tell me where the CC folders actually 'live' on my computer... or are they cloud based?

I am presuming there is one on my pc somewhere which sync's with the cloud but i cannot seem to search/locate on my laptop.

Probably a really dumb question but any help would be appreciated as am a complete newbie.

Hi Clare,

Your Creative Cloud local folder is within your "home" directory on Mac and Windows.

Next question, how do i save to that folder?

It's not really clear what you actually mean. Syncing specific stuff like the preferences is controlled from within the respective programs and even though there is a local cache folder, all it contains is hash files that are of no use to you as a user and are only used for verifying integrity of the synced stuff.
