4.5.4 unresponsive on Windows 10

At ~14:00 today, I switched my computer back on following a shutdown and attempted unsuccessfully to open Adobe Digital Editions. There was no response to any of my attempts to start the program and I have read on the forum that this could be related to issues with the clock, date and time settings: however, I have checked and all of these seem to be as normal. How can I resolve this issue?

I've found a workaround based on comments from a Microsoft forum.

    1. Remove all contents of the My Digital Editions folder.
    2. Uninstall Adobe Digital Editions.
    3. Reinstall Adobe Digital Editions but choose to save it to a folder other than the default offered. (I just added "test" on the end of the folder name.)
    4. Add contents of the My Digital Editions folder back in.

I have tested and I can now read, manage bookshelves and authorise new books.
