Access to e-books in Adobe Digital Editions is denied

I used to have an authorized Adobe Digital Editions version which was linked to a number of e-books. However, the ID with which ADE was authorized is lost, I don't remember which ID/mailaccount I used or what password it had. So the e-books linked to that ID are no longer accessible.

Is there a possibility to unlock those e-books from the ADE ID so that these books are 'free' again for me to connect them to my current ID that I have used for more than five years? I do have info on the e-books involved and can also provide the mailaccounts I may have used back then.
