Activation Error

When I download an Ebook via Overdrive, I get an "Error! Check Activation" pop up. Then when I try to Erase Authorization on the Adobe Digital Editions program, I get another error that states "unable to erase authorization. please try after some time."

How do I go about cleaning this all up so I can download ebooks again?
