Activation Server Error Code E Adept Request Expired

I have tried numerous times to authorize Digital Editions on my home PC, but get the message "Activation Server Error Code E Adept Request Expired..." I tried deleting & reinstalling Digital Editions 3.0 several times and then contacting Adobe Customer Service, but the Technical "Help" person said I needed to get my answer through the Forum (great customer service, right?)
