Add media failure 13.exe

I Have purchased a Lenovo yoga 14 Thinkpad for video editing. I was told it would be great, but I am getting this message every time I start up premier elements 13 with the NVIDIA high performance processo.  The program will run ok but when I try to watch my gopro video in the preview screen, it is extremely choppy. I almost can't even watch it. I am using a gopro 4 silver @ 60 FPS. ANY help would be extremely appreciated. Btw, this my first attempt at video editing. I put the gopro sd card in and imported it to the program. I read somewhere that I may need to convert the files?
