ADE 2 is extremely slow in presenting ACSM file

I have purchased a document which is in ACSM format.  I know nothing of this format.  ADE 2 appears to download the data and displays the pages, but is extremely slow in scrolling the pages.  So slow as to be useless.  Any change takes ages to accomplsh. I am using an Apple MacBook Pro running OS 10.8.3.

I have no trouble at all reading the ADE 2 'Getting Started' file which runs as I would have expected the app to perform.  I am considering deleting ADE 2 and downloading it again, but am concerned how that would effect the validisation process.

Robin.

If you reinstall it should not change validation/authorization.

ADE has a way of getting authorization mixed up; if it does go wrong

ctrl-shift-D to ADE to remove old authorization (cmd-shift-D for you on a Mac)

    restart ADE

    reauthorize

You may find the old version v1.7.2 better, much more reliable in many ways than ADE2.0 which is a load of bug riddled rubbish.

Version 1.7.2, it is a little difficult to find, available on Adobe site for Windows and for Mac.

I followed your advice and replaced ADE 2 with ADE 1.7.2 and that fixed the problem.  I can now read the document and scroll with ease.  I am  much obliged for your detailed and constructive help.  I don't know what is wrong with ADE 2, but it needs something done to it.
