ADE 4.0 is crashing upon trying to open e-books. The error message reads " Activation server error- code e adept internal

I have not had issues with ADE prior to ADE 4.0.  I have Yosemite on my IMac and I don't on my laptop and the problem with ADE is the same.  Any suggestions?
