ade 4.0 won't start on windows 8, interferes with other programs

ade 4.0 suddenly won't open, yesterday it worked finely. i uninstalled and reinstalled it several times, as well as v. 2.0 and 3.0. nthing seems to work. there's no error code, once i got e_adept_internal, but didn't follow it up at that time, and now there's just nothin happening.

mozilla firefox and outlook crash sometimes. can you help?
