ADE 4.5.7 crashes after download of fulfillment is complete

On macOS 10.13.1 ADE 4.5.7 crashes every time after a download of a loaned ePub or PDF is complete. After a restart of ADE the loaned book/ePaper is shown as downloadable, but it crashes again after the download is complete.
