ADE 4.5 crashes when connecting Kobo

I've seen this topic already several times, without any solution. ADE works fine, but when I connect my Kobo it crashes. Already reinstalled ADE, and deleted and renamed my Digital Editions folder, but no solution. Any ideas?

    I am having similar problem. Kobo has been working fine with ADE but suddenly is crashing anytime I try to copy over a new book. I've upgraded to v4.5, removed and re-authorised computer, tried renaming DE folder, restarted computer etc. Very frustrating, am having to read books directly from Overdrive on my phone 😞

    So I installed ADE on a new Windows Machine but it is also crashing everytime I try to copy over a book (or authorise my kobo). So I guess the Kobo is the problem. Factory reset?
