ADE 4.5 has stopped working and Windows will look for a solution

Windows 10.  ADE 4.5.  Overdrive.

Every time I try to download my library books, I get an error message:  ADE 4.5 has stopped working.  Windows is looking for a solution to the problem.

I have unauthorized and reauthorized the PC using the long method (Start-Run, et al.)

What is going on?
