ADE 4.5 on windows 11 splash screen freezes

I am getting sick and tired of this crap from ADE. Yesterday it worked fine. I launched it today and it freezes on the splash screen. On a re-install ADE will launch, but as soon as I try to open it with the files saved from the previous version (My Digital Editions.old) , it freezes again. So clearly something in the files was corrupted and is causing it to freeze on the splash screen.

This is not the first time ADE has done this, it has done something like this in every version of Win or ADE we've run for over a decade. Because Adobe and MS can't get ADE to work properly on a 2 user computer (y'know, like a really, really, complicated user setup) we will have to have 2 computers as long as we have e-readers. Or at least until ADE succeeds in bricking our ereaders.

It's 2025. What kind of amateur software company writes software that trashes itself, all on its own, with nothing done by the user.

Fix this problem, and do better, will you?
