ADE 4.5 stops downloading and freezes on macOS since 2015!

Why is Adobe Digital Editions 4.5 not working properly with MacOS High Sierra, Sierra, El Captain? When in want to download a book with a link from my local bookhall, the progress bar in ADE stops at the end and then ADE is freezing. Everytime! There are many complaints in the Internet from costumers facing the same issues since years!

Adobe, please fix your software.
