ADE 4.5 Won't Start

I have tried numerous times to install and use Adobe Digital Editions 4.5.  But each time, after what appears to be a successful installation, I double-click the ADE icon ... and nothing happens.  Can someone give me some help?

Hi cwbeard,

Looks like we're both in the same boat.

I've installed ADE 4.5.7 and it won't open either - just this message

"Adobe Digital Editions 4.5.7 has encountered a problem and needs to close.  We are sorry for the inconvenience."

What a pain in the A--

I wonder if it may be my Windows XP system?

I haven't yet found what the system requirements are.
