ADE cannot recognize Sony PRS950 on laptop; desktop works

I have been using ADE 4.03 for some time on desktop but when I install and authorize on laptop, it wont recognize reader. I am missing something on setup apparantly but cannot find it. Both computers running Windows 8.1
