ADE does not connect to my Sony reader when it is loaded so I cannot transfer books purchased from Kobo and loaded on ADE.

Bought some books from the KOBO company.  Downloaded Adobe Digital Editions and loaded the purchased books.  Kobos responded to my inquiry stating ADE would "find" my reader and load a screen to allow transfer the books to my Sony reader.  Not so.  Following instructions from Kobos to the letter, connection nor instructions showed up.  Kobos has been unresponsive to inquiries since the first reply to my original request for help.
