ADE does not recognise my new reader

I replaced by Kobo ereader with a Kobo Glo HD reader. I was able to download a book from the library the first time I used it. However since then ADE does not see the Kobo. Kobo help desk advised me to deinstall ADE shut down and restart and install ADE version 3 which I have done. The computer says I am already authorised but still cannot see my Kobo. Can anyone please help.
