ADE download: Error code 2038

Few days ago found I couldn't download books because of 'IO Error on Network Request'.  Did as suggested in forums eg  disable firewall, but with no effect.  I see there are other problems arising in last few days, is there going to be a fix sent out, we shouldn't have to mess around uninstalling/reinstalling.
