Will Adobe make an ADE app for the Chromebook store? Our school has ebooks for our library and we all are getting chromebooks next year, and we want to be able to download books to our new chromebooks.

Moved to Adobe Digital Editions.

I do not know what Adobe will do, you can post a request here: https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform

However, purchasing hardware that doesn't support the sofware you need may save money in the short run, but not in the long run.

OverDrive also makes software that might do what you want (doesn't appear to), but they may be able to support a new system quicker than Adobe as they are a much smaller company that does one thing and one thing only:

All speculation, but I doubt ADE will ever run on Chromebook.  It doesn't run on Android, ios or Win8 RT.

It may well (eventually) get OverDrive and Bluefire apps, that will permit the reading of library and other DRM ebooks.

OverDrive is currently supported on Android, ios and Win8 RT, and Bluefire on Android and ios but not Win8 RT.
