ADE - forgotten password and no access to old email address?

I created my adobe digital editions account many years back - I no longer have access to the email address I used as I no longer work for the same company. My ereader and computer both died within a month of each other, and now I cannot access any of my ebook library as when I went to authorise ADE on the new computer, I can't remember the password and I can't reset the password as I can't access the email address! I'm sure I'm not the only person this has happened to - can anyone help?
