ADE inaccessible in itunes.

Adobe made me download the ADE through iTunes. Now I have this app in iTunes and I can't figure out how to authorize it. If I click on it nothing happens. If I right-click on it I get three options: view in windows explorer, get info, or delete. I'm trying to download and read a book and that process goes directly to adobe reader instead of ADE. I'm using Windows 8.1. Thanks for any advice!
